163 Years of historyWe have archives of documents, photos, leaflets, programmes, press releases and posters going back to the nineteenth century. You can view the documents using the link below.
Some of the fascinating material involves the businesses in Sidmouth that advertised in the programmes until recently. It's like a walk back through the history of the town, and the wide variety of music performed is a real eye-opener! Most programmes have all the names of the choir members at that time.
The material is stored on our Google drive which you can access here (a guide to viewing the files is below this):
HOW TO GUIDE
Viewing the Files
The Google Drive page displays the Choir History folders in our free storage that comes with our Gmail account.
You can search for an item using the search box at the top, I've put them in date order to help. The search looks for file and folder names, it doesn't look INSIDE the files themselves.
DOUBLE CLICK a folder to open it, DOUBLE CLICK a file to open it.
When you see a PDF file (all the programs are PDF's), click the three little dots over on the right and you have various options, one of which is to download it.
Everything in the history archive has been in the public domain.
